I guess you could say he's exhausted and likely mentally just demolished after seeing his friends all die but really I doubt that would stop him when he's trying to make sure the autumn and 6 get out of mf reach. I love the story of noble team but this has always just seemed like a forced scene to ensure they all die. Doesn't hear this bigass alien walking on metal or anything. So I just don't get why he's so sluggish, he seems so keen on making sure 6 gets out alive but when the moment of truth comes he just sluggishly gets out, takes 3 seconds or so to cock his shotgun and kill an elite, then gets up just kinda staring in one place and yelling "who's next?" While not checking if he's actually clear or not, and I dunno why his radar isn't working either, then he just well, gets stabbed.
